BENNY MATE

Hi, I’m Benny.

I’m a creative storyteller drawn to the moments that live just beneath the surface. The quiet exchanges, the in-between glances, the emotion unfolding alongside the obvious. My work is rooted in deep emotion, personal reflection, and a profoundly human point of view.

Creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. From sketching and making videos as a kid to studying design and video production at Communications Arts High School, creative expression has always been how I process the world and connect with others. Over time, those instincts grew into a deeper sense of purpose.

My career has lived at the intersection of media, leadership, and community. I began as a graphic designer and later stepped into a leadership role as Student Ministries Director at First Baptist Church in Illinois, where I led teams, developed creative strategy, and helped shape a culture centered on authenticity and connection.

Today, I serve on the production team at Mission City Church in San Antonio, collaborating across departments to bring stories to life through video and content. Whether I’m documenting a moment, directing a shoot, or supporting a creative team, I’m guided by a desire to create work that invites people to pause, reflect, and feel something real.

I believe the most meaningful stories are found in moments within moments. My work exists to honor those experiences and create space for connection, reflection, and lasting impact.
